Headquartered in Mount Maunganui and with an office in Auckland, we are committed to developing and enriching New Zealand’s property capital markets. Our approach combines global experience, innovative dealmaking, and a long-term commitment to the industry.
We bring the systems and expertise of a large-scale investment manager together with the flexibility and personal focus of a boutique firm. Our operations include a major trading bank funding line, an independent director to oversee fund investment decisions, robust governance and investment guidelines and tech-enabled processes supported by advanced financial models.

Tyler Tabak
Founder & Director Lending & Investments
Identifying property opportunities, sourcing capital, assembling teams, and delivering projects is what Tyler loves to do. He began his career in the specialist property finance unit of a major bank, culminating in a senior management role. Most recently, he was the National Development Manager for one of New Zealand’s largest private developers, as well as furthering his passion for property with his own development and value-add projects.
Tommy Seton
Founder & Director Investors & Operations
Structuring, financing, and delivering property ventures is Tommy’s forte. He has worked in property funds management for over a decade, obtaining investment, development, and finance experience at Brunswick Property and Nuveen Real Estate in London. With hands-on experience delivering complex transactions, he has been responsible for launching and managing large-scale ventures for global institutions. His most recent role was Fund Manager of a value-add property fund in London. He is a qualified chartered surveyor.
Simon Den Bak
Head of Finance
Having spent years working in senior finance roles within both professional services and commercial accounting teams, Simon brings a data-driven approach and passion for numbers to Mount Capital. Simon is a Chartered Accountant with a background in audit. He has also served as CFO for organisations spanning the public sector, professional services and finance.
Ben Gibb
Associate, Lending & Investments
Credit analysis, forging stakeholder relationships, and delivering high-quality property finance solutions are what Ben Gibb does best. Ben developed his expertise at First Mortgage Trust, New Zealand’s largest non-bank property lender, where he put his aptitude for complex lending scenarios into practice. A former multi-time national champion in Canoe Slalom, Ben brings the same dedication and focus that fuelled his sporting success to every lending and investment project he undertakes.
We believe in doing good through our business, with a focus on environmental action.
Good Business
Inside our business, we minimise our environmental footprint. We use electric cars, operate a paperless office, and promote sustainable behaviours.
Outside our business, we donate 1% of gross revenue to environmental causes through 1% for the Planet. We support the Live Ocean Foundation and will expand our charity network as we grow.
